It is the student's responsibility to comply with DePaul's policy and deadlines regarding registration (including drops and adds).
Students should check their schedule and verify that it is correct--be sure to verify appropriate section numbers.
The Campus Connection deadline is 11:59 P.M. on the designated deadline days. However, it is not advisable to wait until the last minute to initiate the transaction as DePaul is not responsible for slow or broken internet connections. Most University offices close at 5:00 P.M. If you need to speak with an advisor or administrator, do not wait until after hours on the deadline date.
No addition in registration for the quarter may be made after the first week of the class (based on a 10-week term or 10% of the class for accelerated classes).
Students who choose to withdraw either from a class or from the University may do so by using the University's web registration systems, in person at their home college, or by letter addressed to the college. Withdrawals processed via the web, or in person are effective the day on which they are made. Withdrawals processed as a result of a letter are effective at the discretion of the college office. Simply ceasing to attend, or notifying the instructor, or nonpayment of tuition, does not constitute a withdrawal of record, and will result in academic as well as financial penalty.
Based on a ten-week quarter, the deadline to drop a class with no academic or financial penalty is the 10th business day of the term (for classes that are more or less than 10 weeks in duration the deadline is equivalent to 20% of the class meeting time).
Students may withdraw from classes until the end of the seventh week (based on 10 week quarter). For clases that are more or less than 10 weeks in duration the deadline is equivalent to 70% of the class meeting time. For classes dropped after the no penalty deadline and before the final deadline, tuition is assessed for these classes and grades of W are assigned.
No withdrawal from registration can be made after the 70% point in time.
Students receiving financial aid are advised to contact a Financial Counselor to discuss the consequences of a withdrawal affecting academic progress and eligibility at DePaul University or any other school to which they may transfer.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no exceptions to these policies and deadlines.
