If I finish my requirements shortly after the 30 days, can my degree still be posted?
No.  The 30 deadline is a federal regulation that cannot be changed.  For this reason, it is important to make sure that you have completed all of your requirements before you apply for degree conferral.

How do I know if I’ve completed all of my requirements?
There are various ways to check your degree progress.  You can download your degree progress report through Campus Connection.  This will show the requirements for your degree and whether or not they have been met.  You can also discuss your progress with your advisor and/or college office.

What are the requirements for distinction?
Requirements for distinction/honors vary from program to program.  To find distinction/honors requirements for your program, please contact your College or Department office.

When will I receive my diploma?
Diplomas are requested immediately after a degree has been posted and will be mailed to the address you stipulated in Campus Connection.  The processing time for diplomas is approximately 2 weeks from the date of conferral, but can vary during periods of high volume.

Can a change of grade be submitted after a student has already been conferred?

No.  Once a student has completed their degree, grades for courses in that career are locked and cannot be changed.

As an instructor, how long do I have to submit grade changes or other paperwork before a degree is conferred?

Degrees must be posted within 30 days of the end of the term.  With this in mind, Student Records needs enough time to process the grade change before the degree is to be conferred.  It is recommended that all grade changes for graduating students be submitted by the beginning of conferral.  We also recommend that you contact your college office so that they are aware for auditing purposes.

When is the deadline for submitting students to be posted?

DePaul University must submit all names for conferral within 30 days of the end of the term.  This is a federal regulation that DePaul University must comply with.  If the 30th day falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline for posting degrees will be pushed forward to  the last business day prior.  Because Student Records needs to audit a student’s record before posting their degree, all names must be submitted no later than noon on the last business day.  It is recommended that names be submitted within the first two weeks of conferral.

How do I get the list of students that need audited?

To pull the list of students that have applied for degree conferral, run the Grad Fee Report query.  This will show all students that have applied for a given term.

How long does it take to post a degree?

Degrees are usually posted within 1 – 2 business days after a name has been submitted, unless a clarification or exception is needed from the college office.
